I gave the Bescor a 4 star rating because of its limited tilting range which can be inconvenient in some scenarios. This is the upper-most area of the Bescor, and it tilts independently of the Bescor's case. The Bescor's top portion provides a standard-sized screw and pin in which to engage your camera. Performing tilts With the Bescor's base secured to your tripod head, the Bescor acts as an extension of your tripod's head. The remote features separate direction and speed controls on a 3 feet cable. Up to 180 degrees pans can be made either manually with the remote control or with the Bescor's auto setting. Once secured, the Bescor and your camera now turn together entirely as one unit that is, when the bottom "turntable" base starts turning, everything above it the Bescor's upper case (body) with your camera attached turn to create the pan. To perform pans, the Bescor has a rather large circular "turntable" base onto which your tripod head attaches by way of the standard-sized screw. I use to get about 50% or less of usable video with my tripod now I get over 90%.īuy Bescor MP101 Video Motorized Pan Head NowBig, bulky, somewhat heavy, with a solid build, the Bescor MP-101 executes smoother pans and tilts (or a combination of both) than I can accomplish with my fluid head keeping in mind that my fluid head is not an expensive one. It has made a world of difference with my video. I am satisfied with the performance of this motorized Pan Head and would recommend it to anyone need such a device. The head works well on both batteries and an AC adapter. This should not present a real problem if the recording sound is at a normal level. I am using a Sony DCR-HC90 which has a very sensitive mike. The only concern is the vertical motion motor generates more noise then the horizontal motor.
I have seen no jerking motion when it stops and then continues.
The movement is smooth in both the horizontal and vertical movements. This motorized pan head does a very nice job.
